NEW TECHNOLOGY INTELLIGENCE IN THE CUTTING HEAD
This range of laser cutting heads has been completely redesigned. One of the changes implemented was to embed all of the device electronics into the cutting head. This provides both technical and economic advantages and makes the heads the ideal components for cutting systems that meet the requirements of smart factories and Industry 4.0.
The advanced cutting head control system contains an embedded microprocessor for control of all functions and monitoring sensors. The new cutting heads also include a high-performance real-time communication EtherCAT interface for control, systems communication, monitoring and data logging.
That all brings integrators plenty of advantages, such as more space on the head, easier system integration, flexible communication, reduced service time and costs, updatable technology and what is more important — better cutting results.

ETHERCAT INTERFACE — EASY SYSTEM INTEGRATION AND INDUSTRY 4.0
The EX-TRABEAM® series is timeless thanks to its embedded control system with an EtherCAT interface. The system uses intelligent components such as an integrated control processor in the cutting head, which generally means using fewer components. Unified platform construction with many common parts, along with universal control, ensures easy system integration, comprehensive monitoring options, and Industry 4.0-ready data handling.
SERVICEABILITY AND COST-EFFECTIVENES
The structural design of the EX-TRABEAM® cutting heads facilitates a completely new service concept. The smart concept enables quicker and more affordable replacement of optical elements, simple repair of the nozzle module, and practical remote maintenance. This saves time and money and offers clear advantages for integrators and their customers.
A big benefit is the easy exchange of optical elements directly on the machine without removing the cutting head.
The nozzle module with a 3-part modular structure can be repaired easily, and in the case of crashes or defects the replacement isn´t expensive.
Last but not least, there is practical remote maintenance thanks to the EtherCAT interface. Moderate procurement costs and low service and maintenance costs ensure a rapid return on investment.
